Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

By creating an account or using DropPay ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use DropPay.

1. What DropPay is

DropPay is a payment platform that lets merchants create payment requests, payment links, and hosted checkout pages to receive XRP directly into their own wallet. We provide the tools and dashboard - the actual movement of funds happens directly between wallets on the XRP Ledger. DropPay never holds your funds.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your password and recovery phrase secure. Do not share them with anyone. If you lose access to both your password and recovery phrase, we may not be able to recover your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to use DropPay. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use DropPay to:

  • Accept payments for illegal goods or services
  • Deceive or defraud customers
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation in your country
  • Attempt to access or interfere with other users' accounts
  • Use the API in a way that places excessive load on our systems

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Merchant compliance and legal responsibility

DropPay is a non-custodial payment platform. We do not act as a financial intermediary, money transmitter, payment facilitator, or custodian. By creating an account and using DropPay, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction, including tax reporting, consumer protection, and any financial licensing requirements that may apply to your business.
  • DropPay does not provide KYC (Know Your Customer) or AML (Anti-Money Laundering) screening on your customers. If your business or jurisdiction requires such screening, you are responsible for conducting it independently.
  • DropPay does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. Nothing on this platform constitutes advice on your compliance obligations.
  • You will not use DropPay to accept payments from individuals or entities in sanctioned countries or on sanctions lists issued by OFAC, the UN, the EU, or any other applicable regulatory body.

DropPay reserves the right to suspend accounts where we have reason to believe the platform is being used in violation of applicable law, without liability to the account holder.

5. Payments and funds

DropPay does not process, intermediate, or hold any customer funds. All payments - including those made via payment links, embedded checkout, and tip pages - are made directly between XRP wallets on the XRP Ledger. We are not responsible for the outcome of any transaction, including payments sent to an incorrect address or lost due to user error.

You are responsible for ensuring your XRP wallet address and destination tag (if applicable) are correct before receiving payments. Transactions on the XRP network are final and cannot be reversed.

Some payment requests may be denominated in a reference currency such as USD. In these cases, DropPay displays an indicative XRP equivalent based on the live market rate at the time the payment page is opened. This rate is a checkout reference for informational purposes only. It is not a guaranteed exchange rate, a forward-rate contract, an FX instrument, or a financial hedge of any kind. XRP is a volatile asset and the actual value received may differ from the reference amount.

6. Checkout and redirect payments

DropPay provides a hosted checkout flow that allows merchants to redirect customers to a DropPay-hosted payment page and receive them back on their own site after payment is confirmed. When using this feature:

  • You are responsible for verifying the payment status via webhook or the DropPay API before fulfilling an order
  • DropPay confirms that an on-chain XRP transaction was received matching the expected amount. We are not responsible for order fulfilment disputes between you and your customers
  • Payment pages expire after 30 minutes from first open. Customers who do not complete payment within this window will need to be sent a new payment link
  • You must not use the checkout feature to collect payment for goods or services that violate these terms or any applicable law

7. Tip pages

DropPay provides a public tip page at droppayxrp.com/tip/{handle} and an embeddable tip widget. Tip payments go directly to your XRP wallet with no intermediary. DropPay is not responsible for fraudulent tip campaigns or misuse of the tip feature by users who misrepresent their identity or purpose to supporters.

8. Subscription and billing

DropPay offers a free plan and a paid Pro plan. New accounts include a 14-day Pro trial with no payment required.

Pro subscriptions can be paid in two ways:

  • XRP or RLUSD on-chain - billed as a one-time payment per period. When paying in XRP, the amount is calculated from the live XRP/USD rate at the time of payment.
  • Card via PayPal - billed as a monthly auto-renewing subscription at $9.99 USD/month. PayPal handles all card processing and billing. DropPay does not store or see your card details.

All subscription payments are non-refundable. This applies to both XRP/RLUSD on-chain payments and PayPal card payments. You may cancel a PayPal subscription at any time from your PayPal account or from the DropPay dashboard. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period after cancellation.

If your Pro subscription expires or is cancelled, your account returns to the free plan. Your data and payment history are retained.

PayPal subscriptions are governed by PayPal's own Terms of Service in addition to these terms. In the event of a payment dispute with PayPal, DropPay's decision on account access is final.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep DropPay running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime, technical errors, or issues with the XRP network or PayPal's platform.

10. API and developer tools

Access to the DropPay API is provided for legitimate business use. You must not share your API key publicly or use it in a way that compromises your account security. We reserve the right to revoke API access if it is misused.

The DropPay MCP server allows AI assistants to interact with your account using your API key. You are responsible for any actions taken by tools or systems that have access to your API key. Do not grant API access to tools you do not trust.

The x402 payment protocol allows automated clients and AI agents to make payments to your account in exchange for API access. You are responsible for configuring your x402 settings correctly. DropPay verifies that on-chain payment transactions match the expected amount before returning a success response, but we are not liable for misconfigurations on your end.

11. Automated and AI agent use

DropPay supports automated and AI agent use through the API, MCP server, and x402 protocol. All automated use is subject to the same acceptable use rules as manual use. You may not use automated tools to create fraudulent payment requests, flood the system with requests, or circumvent rate limits. We reserve the right to rate-limit or suspend accounts that place excessive automated load on our systems.

12. Intellectual property

The DropPay name, logo, and software are owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without our permission. Your payment data and account content remain yours.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DropPay is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service, including losses from failed transactions, price changes in XRP or RLUSD, payment disputes, failed PayPal charges, incorrect currency-referenced payment amounts, or account suspension.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any dispute arising from your use of DropPay will be resolved under the laws of the jurisdiction in which DropPay operates. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the consumer protection laws of your own country.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of DropPay after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
